Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Mobile Legends game addiction on the social behavior of santri at Dayah Darul Fityan, Banda Aceh, within the context of Islamic boarding school education. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation involving 14 informants consisting of 10 santri, 2 dayah teachers, 1 english teacher and 1 dayah leader. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured using source triangulation. The findings reveal that the intensity of Mobile Legends use among santri varies, ranging from controlled recreational use to tendencies toward addiction. Excessive gaming was found to influence social behavior, including reduced direct social interaction, emotional instability, decreased discipline in worship and learning activities, and weakened concentration during religious study sessions. However, controlled game use also showed positive potential in enhancing teamwork and social bonding. These findings highlight the importance of institutional regulation, continuous guidance from educators, and self-awareness among santri in managing digital behavior within Islamic educational institutions.
