PENTINGNYA PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MEMBENTUK KARAKTER SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education plays an important role in shaping the character of elementary school students who have noble character. The formation of Islamic character aims to ensure that students have ethics and manners towards themselves, others, and the surrounding environment. This article uses a library research method with a descriptive approach to collect, group, and analyze data from various relevant sources. The results of the study indicate that the instilling of Islamic character in schools can be done through three main aspects, namely: (1) the instilling of faith character which includes belief in the pillars of faith and the pillars of Islam; (2) the formation of Islamic attitudes such as honesty, trustworthiness, intelligence, discipline, and communication; and (3) the formation of Islamic behavior such as being helpful, friendly, caring, and respectful in daily life at school and in the community.
