Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of socio-cultural factors on the utilization of maternal and child health (MCH) services in Aceh Province. MCH services are one of the important indicators in health development, but their implementation still faces various challenges, especially in the context of indigenous and traditional communities. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation with pregnant women, village midwives, and community leaders in Aceh Besar and Bireuen districts. The results showed that factors such as belief in traditional medicine, family influence, religious norms, and limited access are still obstacles in the utilization of MCH services. This study suggests the need for a cultural approach in health service strategies, the involvement of traditional and religious leaders, and the improvement of maternal and child health literacy in Acehnese
